Our 2020 summer internships application will open on March 13th, 2020!

Applications are due no later than April 10th, 2020 at midnight. Decisions will be made by May 7th, 2020.

Below are internship information and the summer internship application.

Instructions for Application:

  1. Students will need to upload a cover letter and resume to the document as part of their application. Students can apply to up to 3 positions, but should only submit a cover letter for their top internship choice.
  2. Students will also need to complete an interview for their internship application-the option to interview in person or virtually is available to all students. Students will receive additional details regarding their interview by email.

The intern will assist the recruiting team with a variety of projects that will provide you with an overall experience of human resources and recruiting. Some of the daily projects will include: client visits, sitting in on board & community meetings, learning the flow of a professional offce, answering the phone for candidates/clients, potential to conduct phone screenings of applicants, processing of applications from candidates, learning of the hiring process, and general office duties as assigned. Anyone with interest in HR, administrative, or recruiting work encouraged!

Wage: $12-$14/Hour

Hours: 12-20 hours/week. Flexible around what time of day, but preferably mid-day 3-4 times a week for approximately 4 hours at a time

The intern will gain behind the scenes insight into how staffing agencies work from both the HR/administrative side, as well as the recruiting side. They will be able to gain knowledge that will benefit them for all future job interviews by learning the ins & outs of the interview process first hand. They will gain general administrative skills and office experience that will provide a baseline for resumes to apply after college.

Ascendium’s philanthropic mission is to elevate opportunity and equitable outcomes for students from low-income households – particularly students from rural communities, students of color, first-generation students, and adult learners, including incarcerated adults so they can achieve their academic and career goals. The Education Grantmaking team provides grant funding to nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education around the country. The intern will have the opportunity to gain insight into the philanthropic process from grant proposal to award decision. The Education Grantmaking intern will work closely with members of our program and grants management team. The department is growing quickly. To support our new and upcoming hires we and could use help expanding our capacity around employee onboarding and training materials. We are seeking help with several possible projects which might include: revising existing training materials; coordinating brand look and feel across multiple training documents; helping to develop engaging training materials across a variety of mediums.

Other Details: Ascendium application after placement

We would like the intern to learn about the Attigo product suite and provide general feedback and insight on student impact. However, we’re primarily interested in their thoughts on GradReady, and would like to have them build out a marketing kit that would help our customers (e.g. schools, scholarship providers, lenders and employers) promote GradReady to their student population. The kit would include guidance to help our customers maximize engagement in GradReady. For example: build a series of social posts for multiple channels, identify a variety of campus events, create a “Getting Started in GradReady” flyer. Part of the summer experience would also be the opportunity to create a blog post, email campaign, and social channel posts as part of understanding the larger field of marketing i.e. brand awareness, lead generation, Sales support and customer delight.

Other Details: Small office (team of 4-6)

This intern will focus on helping the State Farm team with marketing in the community by visiting local businesses & events, and sharing information about our office. This intern will help with driving more customers into the office by reaching out to current and new prospects to visit and review current plans. The intern will be assigned a team leader incentive project to help the team hit goals, and will have the opportunity to take on additional administrative projects throughout the summer.

This intern will work with and get exposure to IT systems, processes, as well as with CSR software and Salesforce. Under the supervision of the IT manager, the intern will get hands on experience working in these systems as well as cleaning up data. This position would be a great fit for someone with and interest and passion in a career in Information Technology.

Interns will gain an understanding of work in a professional environment, skills related to each specific career path, as well as help with resumes and interviewing. During their internship, they will have the opportunity to ask questions, shadow other departments, and gain hands-on experience.
