8-10 hours/week

Dane County is seeking a highly motivated individual to conduct ongoing public relations work for the agency, including the development of public relations materials such as press releases, assist with coordinating grants panel review materials and process, communicate with individual artists and arts organizations countywide, respond to constituent correspondence, organize and update constituent database and file systems, assist with web site design and structure, assist with workshop/event planning, research special projects as directed by the Director of Cultural Affairs, and complete general office duties as needed.


The Dane Arts internship program allows interns and volunteers to participate in a wide assortment of arts-related opportunities and to assist staff in a number of office and programmatic responsibilities. Dane Arts  also encourages interns and volunteers to pursue areas of interest and to propose challenging and fulfilling projects to work on during the internship.


Ideal candidates for this internship possess experience with research and writing, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and work independently and cooperatively, proficiency in computer skills and computer research (especially with Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, and Web browsers), and attention to detail and the ability to complete projects in an efficient manner.


Position will work approximately 8 – 10 hours per week between 8 am and 5 pm in at least three hour blocks. This is an internship that is not eligible for benefits.
